EMC+SIPI 2024: Youth Technical Program Harness the Power of the Sun!

Have you ever stood outside on a hot, sunny day, and wondered whether all that sunshine could be used for something? If you attended the Youth Technical Program held during the 2024 IEEE EMC+SIPI Symposium in Phoenix, Arizona, you learned to harness the power of the sun! Stephanie Zajac, Youth Technical Program Chair (shown in photo below with microphone), discussed the principles of renewable energy, the photoelectric effect, and their application to photovoltaic technology. Each participant applied these principles to construct a solar powered car, useful for cruising the streets of Phoenix, and beyond! As you can see from these accompanying photos, all attendees enjoyed an educational and entertaining day.
