CW laser oscillation at 6127 Å in singly ionized iodine

CW laser action has been obtained on the 6127-Å transition of
I
(II) in a He-CdI
2
discharge. Relative output power has been measured as a function of discharge current, helium pressure, and CdI
2
temperature.
