Angular distribution of "surface" radiation in stimulated Raman scattering

Anti-Stokes emission in sharply defined cones has been observed from fine filaments in a mixture of acetone with 5 to 10 percent CS
2
. The cone angle is in agreement with the momentum-matching condition that the longitudinal but not the transverse components sum to zero.
