ESD Immunity Test System for Bio-Signal-Driven Wearable Robots

This article briefly introduces an electrostatic discharge (ESD) immunity test system for wearable robots driven by bio-signals, discusses the basic requirements of such a test system, and demonstrates its usefulness. Due to the characteristics of wearable robots, a bio-equivalent phantom that simulates a living body and a signal generator that generates bio-signals are the basic requirements for the test system configuration. Comparison of test results between the introduced ESD test system and actual human subjects demonstrates its usefulness and raises the need for standardization of such a test system.
