An experimental technique for the investigation of the formation of picosecond pulses in a mode-locked Nd-glass laser

A general mode-locking and
Q
-switching technique which is specially suitable for the investigation of the influence of the non-linear transmission characteristic on the formation of mode-locked pulses is described. In addition, some preliminary results are reported.
