A hybrid finite element-boundary integral formulation of Poisson's equation

A method is presented for the solution of two-dimensional static fields in which any region in the plane can be represented by finite elements or by a boundary integral. The form of the set of simultaneous equations obtained is studied and several illustrative examples of the technique are given.
