Optimization of thin film heads for high density disc recording on particulate media

High density magnetic recording with inductive thin film heads on particulate disc media is theoretically and empirically studied. A new recording simulation method is introduced, new recording phenomena are predicted, and improved high density recording performance is demonstrated.
