Remembering the Exceptional Contributions of Prof. Ned Mohan [In Memoriam]

It is with great sadness that IEEE Power Electronics Society (PELS) announces the passing of Prof. Ned Mohan on 11 February 2024 in Minneapolis, MN at the age of 77. Prof. Mohan was born on 5 October 1946 in New Delhi, India. He received his undergraduate education from the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur, India in 1967. He received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Wisconsin, Madison, USA, in 1973. After a brief post-doctoral stint, he joined the University of Minnesota at the Twin Cities of Minneapolis-St. Paul in 1976. He spent his entire academic career spanning 48 years here. Since 1993, he was the Oscar A. Schott Professor of Power Electronics and Systems.
