New techniques in FEM field calculation applied to power cable characteristics computation

The authors describe an application of the finite-element method to the computation of the parameters per unit length of shielded and multiphase cables. Recently developed techniques were used in the domain of the solution of unbounded problems and adaptive mesh refinement. Comparison with analytical results illustrates the efficiency of the proposed techniques in terms of computation times and accuracy.<>
