Magnetic characterisation of recording media

The basic characterizing parameters of magnetic recording media are critically examined. The applicability and usefulness of the measurement of remanence curves are discussed together with their relationship to time-dependent phenomena. Techniques for the determination of anisotropy fields are also presented. The application of DC and AC magnetic measurement techniques to the characterization of pigment dispersions is briefly discussed.<
