Impacts of cascaded filters with group delay ripples on 40-Gb/s WDM transmission system

The effect of time-delay ripples on 40-Gb/s filter cascaded systems and multispan transmission systems is investigated for the first time. Through numerical simulations, it is shown that the ripple amplitude basically determines the system performance in the practical transmission system.
