A technique for real-time measurement of d/sup i/V/dI/sup i/: application to high speed optical communications

This paper describes a new technique for measurement of spatial derivatives of arbitrary order. Derivatives of the form d'V/dI are measured using B mixed analog-digital algorithm that is well-suited for integrated circuit implementation. The application of this algorithm for semiconductor laser control in high speed optical communications is described.
