Analysis of Robust Speed and Position Identification Motion-sensorless Flux Linkage Observer of an IPMSM Drive for Electric-Vehicle Application

This paper analyzes an optimized technique for estimating an IPMSM motor RPM and position, considering established terminal voltages and currents for motion-Sensorless speed vector control. The presented solution is simpler and more robust to deviations in motor parameters. The optimized technique does not require knowledge of the stator resistance value and is unaffected by stator resistance heating variations. In addition, pure integration of identified variables is not required in principle. Consequently, this new method achieves significantly greater bandwidth speed control compared to prior integral-based flux estimation motion-Sensorless drives. Matlab software simulation and experimental outcomes validate the efficacy of the proposed scheme.
