Analysis of mobile-originated interference in coexisting UMTS networks

An analytical formulation of the statistics of interference power originating at a UMTS mobile station and being received by a receiver in another, coexisting UMTS network is given where coexistence means the simultaneous operation of two different networks in the same area. Since UMTS networks are interference-limited, this statistic can be used to estimate the capacity loss due to spectral coexistence of UMTS networks, typically in adjacent frequency bands.
