Linear Extended State Observer Based Model Predictive Control for Bidirectional DC-DC Converter

To improve the robustness and dynamics performance of model predictive control (MPC) on three-phase interleaved parallel bidirectional DC/DC converter, this paper proposes MPC strategy based on linear extended state observer (LESO). First, the simplified system mathematical model under boost and buck modes is established, in where the lumped disturbance is observed by LESO, and the prediction model is compensated. The cost function is then designed to obtain the optimal duty cycle for each algorithm cycle, and the switch signal is generated by the carrier phase shifting pulse width modulation (CPS-PWM). Finally, the simulation results show that the proposed strategy can reduce the voltage ripple without the mode judgement, and has good dynamic performance and robustness, compared with PI-MPC.
