Simulations and experimental study of electric field screening by the proximity of field emitters

Experiments and simulations were performed to investigate the electric field screening effects with two and four cathodes configuration. The experiments are run using carbon fiber field emitters with various spacing between fibers. Experiments and simulations show the current to be a strong function of the separation between the field emitters.
