Studies of Faraday magnetic rotation characteristics of polyaniline film

Summary form only given. Magneto-optical effect has been attracting more and more attention because of its theoretical and practical values. The Faraday magneto-optical rotation characteristics of polyaniline film has been studied in this paper. It is demonstrated experimentally that there is fine linear relationship between the Faraday rotation angle and magnetic field intensity at the case of low magnetic field, which can be explaned according to the classical Faraday magneto-optical theory, and the Faraday rotation angle increases and decreases alternately with the increase of magnetic field intensity at the case of high magnetic field which can be explaned according to the quantum theory of Faraday magneto-optical effect. Since the Faraday magneto-optical property is dependent on the change rate of the refractive index with wave length of light, the peak of Faraday rotation spectrum and the peak of absorption spectrum are accompanied but do not coincide with each other for Polyaniline film. The effective mass of charge carrier in poyaniline film can be obtained from the experimental results of Faraday magnetic rotation. The effective mass of charge carrier is importent physical parameter of material.
