Design and implementation of a supervisory system for wind turines inverters

This paper describes the implementation of a supervisory system for wind turbine inverters, that incorporates into the frequency inverter the characteristics of the relays necessary for microgeneration. As a result, the inverter added value is increased, as external protective relays are not needed. A diagram depicting the possible inverter operating status and respective control actions is shown. The methods utilized to implement the functionalities related to inverter protection are also described. To validate the proposed supervisory system, experimental results are presented and compared to Grid Code requirements.
