Asymmetric control of electric vehicles power chain

This paper presents a methodology for controlling and optimized power chain structure of electric vehicles. This method is suitable for permanent magnet axial flux synchronous motors and for IGBT converters. This structure is chosen in order to minimize the cost of the power chain by reducing the number of IGBT and simplified the electronic control system. In fact, the reducing of IGBTs number also leads to increased autonomy since the dissipated energy by conduction and by switching will be reduced. The overall design of the power chain is implemented under the simulation environment Matlab-Sumilink for performance analysis of studied structure.
