Analysis of crowd sourced soil data for small scale ginger farms

Currently in India there is lack of soil health data and most of the farmers have small land holding. There are expensive soil monitoring systems, which these farmers cannot afford as they have small patches of land to cultivate and even smaller capital to make such an investment. The soil data collected can be used to improve the crop yield and determine the soil health of a locality. This paper explores how crowd sourcing of soil data from a locality can be used to predict the growth of ginger of a particular farm based on previous & current months precipitation data along with current soil parameters. This paper shows an economical solution for small scale farmers to collect data at regular interval, also analyze this data to improve their yield of ginger.
