Performance analysis of 40kWp solar photovoltaic plant

Variability associated with input to any PV system is one of the major factors that command the output of the system. In addition to it, technology used, weather conditions, geographical location, local latitude etc. also decide the performance of any solar photovoltaic system. In this paper, the performance of a 40kWp solar photovoltaic plant installed in Faculty of Arts, Dayalbagh Educational institute, Agra, India is evaluated following IEC standard - 61724. Performance of plants across the world gradually improved during last decade, continuous monitoring and periodical assessment being the major contributor. This paper presents performance indices defined by the standards for the considered plant for a period of one year and its comparison with its contemporaries. This paper also presents the energy yield statistics for the same plant for the same period.
