Image reconstruction in respiratory monitoring based on the anatomical information for magnetic detection electrical impedance tomography

In order to improve the resolution of electrical impedance tomography, magnetic detection electrical impedance tomography is proposed to monitor human respiration noninvasively with high resolution. By injecting certain current with low frequency into the imaging object, the distribution of magnetic flux density around the object is calculated by finite element method and Biot-Savart's law. Aiming at the forward problem of magnetic detection electrical impedance tomography we calculated the electric potential and current density distribution inside the physical model based on the anatomical information of the human lung, which are obtained by threshold segmentation, morphological operation and seed filling from real CT data of human lungs, and we get magnetic induction intensity outside the object when exhaling and inhaling according to Biot-Savart's law, then different distribution images are obtained. The results show that the magnetic induction intensity when inhaling is 8.875% greater than that when exhaling. By simulation results, we can better understand the difference of magnetic induction intensity value surrounding the lung when exhaling and inhaling due to the change of lung volume and electrical conductivity distribution, laying the foundation for the image reconstruction and clinical disease detection.
