Design and analysis of Sliding Mode Controller for Isolated Full Bridge DC-DC converter

For the control of non-linear system, nonlinear control theory is widely accepted as a better technique due to its robustness against uncertainty and parameter variations over the inherent short-comings of the linear control theory. A non-linear control technique named Sliding Mode Control (SMC) technique is characterized by its simplicity in analysis, design, high efficiency and robustness towards parameter uncertainties. In this paper we have applied SMC design for Isolated DC-DC converter and the phenomenon of chattering has been discussed. A prototype model of the Isolated Full-Bridge DC-DC converter has been proposed using MATLAB R2009b/SIMULINK. Simulation results verify the robustness and simplicity of SMC technique.
