Agent based dynamic clustering for hybrid VANET (ADCHV)

Communication without failure is the fruitful result of advanced technology which can be achieved by enabling the design and implementation of several networks. Vehicular Ad-hoc Networks (VANETs) demands reliable communication. To facilitate the reliable communication, in this work, we present an Agent based Dynamic Clustering for Hybrid VANET (ADCHV). Dynamic clustering is the technique in which, clusters are moving with vehicles to make the dynamic topology stable. Proposed work uses the agent technology. Agent that resides in Road Side Unit (RSU) initiates the cluster formation based communication range of RSU and it also selects the Cluster Head (CH) based on the position of vehicles and vehicles neighbor list. Custer dynamism is achieved through vehicle agent. Vehicle agent is responsible for replacement of cluster head in case of cluster head failure or out of coverage area. The proposed scheme is simulated in C++ to test the effectiveness performance. Some of the performance parameters are cluster formation time, cluster head selection time, cluster lifetime.
