Research on the accuracy of GPS baseline solution

The paper has studied the relationship between satellite number and observation time. The quality of baseline solution were influenced by many factors, such as baseline given point coordinates, the ionosphere propagation delay, the tropospheric propagation delay, satellite altitude cut-off Angle, baseline length and the length of time of observation on the influence of the baseline calculating and so on. This article mainly research satellite observations sampling rate and length of time in the role of baseline calculating. In the process of calculating GPS baseline, by calculating a baseline of the same length, it could determine the relationship between the number of satellite and the solving time. First, have selected the satellite number and observation period, and organized the data. Then, using Locus processor handles packages to solve many periods of the baseline, in every period of baseline solution, as the satellite number increasing, have recorded the change of solving time in the process. In this way, the conclusion could be generalized by calculating many baselines. When the length of the baseline was from 2 to 8 km, 5 satellites could solve the fixed solution in about 25 minutes; 6 satellites could solve the fixed solution in about 15 minutes; 7 satellites could solve the fixed solution in about 10 minutes; 8 satellites could solve the fixed solution in about 5 minutes. When the length of the baseline was from 8 to 14 km, 5 satellites could solve the fixed solution in about 25 minutes; 6 satellites could solve the fixed solution in about 20 minutes; 7 satellites could solve the fixed solution in about 15 minutes; 8 satellites could solve the fixed solution in about 10 minutes. The result showed that in the process of baseline solution, the more satellite number, the less calculating time needed.
