A new fractal-like tree structure of circular patch antennas for 5G multi-band and wide-band applications

A new fractal like tree structure of circular patch antennas for multi-band and wide-band challenges in 5G technologies is presented in this paper. The elementary structure is shown in Fig. 1. The antenna is designed on low cost Rogers RT/duroid 5880 (tm) substrate fed by a 50-ohm micro-strip line. The antenna is simulated in High Frequency Structure Simulator Software (HFSS). The proposed antenna resonates at five different bands, which makes it a candidate for ultra-wideband (UWB) and 5G systems. The five bands covered by the proposed antenna for a −10 dB return loss are (1.6 GHz–7.5 GHz), (8 GHz–10 GHz), (10.5 GHz–12.2 GHz), (12.7 GHz–16.1 GHz), and the last band (19.3 GHz–23 GHz). response is shown in Fig. 2. Also these bands are achieved with constant radiation pattern characteristics at the different frequency bands.
