Abstract:

This paper presents the preliminary results of an exploratory study about students' performance within a Digital Literacy course taught across three academic years in the United Arab Emirates. The main purpose of the research was to reflect on the skills taught in the Digital Literacy course and analyze the students' final grades. Despite the initial analysis indicating no substantial differences in average grades, a closer analysis shows a high discrepancy between the lowest and highest grades across the three academic years. Possible reasons to explain the results are discussed as well as some recommendations to consider when revising the course. Topics for future research are also suggested.
