Identifying Energy-Deprivation in Wireless Sensor Networks

In this study, we introduce a technique for identifying energy-deprivation in wireless sensor networks. To achieve its goal, our technique models the levels of energy consumption in a wireless sensor network, by first modeling its proposed normal behavior based on user input on the sensors' assumed operations. Then, it models the actual energy consumption levels of the actual network, and identifies irregular consumption patterns accordingly. The insights generated by our modeling are invaluable to the detection of energy-depriving attacks on wireless sensor networks.
