Therapeutic uses of pulsed electromagnetic field and design of A T.E.N.S. pain relief unit [PART I]

A low-frequency pulsed electromagnetic field (PEMF) of spike signals applied to ruptured bone, damaged soft tissues, pain and cancerous tumors have significant therapeutic values. The efficacy of PEMF for healing of pain, swelling, fracture, injured cartilage, soft tissues and osteoarthritis is the focus of this article. This review is on the basis of the therapeutic benefits of PEMF therapy. Precise low frequency pulsed electromagnetic fields (PEMFs) produce specific organic and cellular effects, based on the amplitude, pulse rate and wave shape. Here a pain relief unit is designed having spike waveform of magnitude of 298volt, frequency range between 48Hz and 132Hz.
