High accuracy magnet power supply for proton synchrotron by repetitive control

A high-accuracy magnet power supply for 12 GeV proton synchrotron using repetitive control is described. The magnet power system consists of a ring magnet power supply (23.6 MVA), reactive power compensator systems (20 MVAr lag for fundamental) and harmonic filter banks (20 MVAr lead). The bending magnets power supply consists of eight twelve-pulse rectifiers and is controlled by six groups of voltage patterns to optimize the reactive power and voltage ripple. The hybrid control system with the analog automatic current regulator and automatic voltage regulator loop as real-time negative feedback control and the repetitive current and voltage control was performed. The current precision of 10/sup -4/ compared to the flat top current was obtained.<
