Summary:Software development in geographically distributed environments brings challenges to teams such as communication, coordination, knowledge management and establishment of a collaboration infrastructure. This work presents the TDE/UML Editor Extension case, an UML 2.0 editor based on the Eclipse Platform, whose implementation was distributed among three different sites. Agile programming practices were part of the project routine, since frequent feedback from the client was needed and project constraints included a short schedule. Communication and feedback were enhanced with an integrated Web project management tool and a set of collaborative applications. The results show that effectively combining simple collaborative tools with agile practices can promote team integration and distributed development success
