Summary:BST capacitors possess excellent dielectric and electromechanical properties near FE-PE phase transition under dc bias field. In this work we will present the field and temperature dependencies of the electromechanical properties of (Ba,Sr)TiO₃. Experimental observations will be compared to predictions from the phenomenological theory of ferroelectric phase transitions. Previously developed densely populated two-dimensional BST arrays will be described for potential applications in real time hand-held acoustic camera for underwater divers, medical imaging, and acoustic microscopy
