Abstract

Modeling the grounding circuit with adequate accuracy is significant for studying conducted EMI problems caused by impedance of grounding net, while few researches has been done in this field. A simplified grounding model is introduced in this paper to represent grounding net. Several methods, including PEEC (partial element equivalent circuit), Ansoft Q3D, Maxwell 3D and FastModel are used to extract the parasitic parameters separately. The paper makes a comparative analysis of the calculation result of these methods. Some limitations or disadvantages of these methods have been pointed out. Based on different methods, two different HF (high frequency) models has been proposed for simulation. And then the simulation results have been compared with the measurement of HP4395A impedance analyzer. The good consistency shows that both the circuit model and the partial parameters are accurate and feasible enough within the frequency range of interest.
