Summary:Distributed smart cameras use distributed computing architectures to analyze imagery from physically distributed cameras. Performing real-time distributed analysis of video introduces substantial new challenges, but also provides substantial benefits over server-based approaches. This work describes some of the algorithms and architectures we have developed for tracking using distributed smart camera systems, including fault-tolerance, synchronization, and multi-band fusion
