Summary: Our Web-based interactive system provides efficient and flexible digital medical image data access and manipulation over the Internet, thus offering potential cost savings to the health care system. It has the potential to integrate and associate data from multiple vendors' systems and multiple imaging modalities, not only at an institutional level but also at a regional level. An example of its potential applications is the expert evaluation of images acquired at remote sites in rural areas, which often lack local specialist services.
