Summary: The wavelength dependence of the ac biased recording sensitivity is calculated utilizing a model in which both longitudinal and vertical record fields are considered. Even though the effects of demagnetization fields and spreads in particle switching fields are neglected, the calculation yields excellent quantitative agreement with measurements on extremely well-oriented CrO2and γFe2O3magnetic tapes.
