Summary:In this paper, the authors introduce a signal detection scheme
based on the bifurcation behavior of the driven Duffing oscillator.
Chaotic systems are sensitive to certain signals and immune to noise at
the same time, the properties of which demonstrate their potential
application in weak signal detection. Starting from the analysis of the
intermittent chaotic motion occurring in the detecting process, they put
forward a new frequency-locking principle based on the periodic
characteristic of the intermittent chaos. Then, an exposition is made on
how to use an array of the oscillators to detect the weak signals of
unknown frequency
