Optical Communications Series focuses on current or near-term implementations of optical communications technologies in public and private communications networks The second issue in this series is planned for July 2008. Submissions for this special issue should provide practical, implementable information that will be useful to engineering practitioners at all levels of experience. Jointly authored papers with end users or service providers are encouraged. Technical papers, tutorials, application notes, and other formats are welcomed in the following general areas:
